This is an informational website with information on the second largest wreck of the Americas, losing only to the Titanic (considering the number of dead in the accident).
In this website you will get to know the history of the ship, its travels, the accident, the details of the diving operations, treasure hunting and underwater exploration.
The wreck is surrounded by mysteries and stories, and a lot of them will be disclosed on this website, and also some of the mysteries will remain unknown.
The purpose of this site is to provide real information of studies already conducted, in addition to photos and descriptive text to clarify the visitors. The information here is to promote the culture, archeology, museology, marine ecology, Nautical and underwater tourism and preserving the marine ecosystem of the regional habitat, in addition to the maritime history of Brazil.
The site shows information obtained from expeditions in the 50s and 80s, all authorized by the Navy, with appropriate vessel. But there were also hundreds of dives to gold mining piracy and unauthorized shipments between the two expeditions, that came to cause irreversible damage.
It is important to note that some documents were obtained directly from magazines and newspapers since 1916, and the spelling of the original documents was mantained, to ensure the integrity of information.
